OK, this is my new weight loss blog. I discovered yesterday...or rather many years ago...that I am addicted to food. This might be easier if I could live without food, but I can't. So, I woke up this morning and decided that it's time for me to lose weight. It's not the first time I've decided this, but maybe this time it will sink in and I will actually lose it. Now, get ready for this all my followers, none yet, but some will follow soon I hope, my starting weight is...um...somewhere in the vicinity of 265 pounds. I get weighed once a month at my counseling center where I get my medications, so I know this is around where it's at. I have a scale somewhere in this house but don't feel like looking for it at the moment, so I'm just going with the 265. I am 5'4" and this weight is just about to kill me. My knees hurt, my back and arms and feet hurt and I just can't take it anymore. Not to mention a friend of mine has lost a ton of weight in the past few months and if she can do it, I don't see why I can't! I always said that I would NEVER weigh 200 pounds. Well, I have surpassed that and 265 is way over the limit.
The way I am going to lose weight is this: Stop eating so damn much. I don't have any insurance, haven't had any for years, so I cannot afford a gastric bypass. I'm not sure if I would go with that if I could anyway. I can do this myself, I KNOW I can. I've done it before, although it was 20 some odd years ago, but I know I can do this. Today I had a bowl of cereal and just ate some jello with fruit in it. I can make a safe bet and say I'm not having a pan of brownies with ice cream for lunch today. (Yes, I HAVE done that!) I do plan to join the local YMCA again and try and get a trainer who isn't an idiot that tells me "Good luck with that" when I tell her how much I want to lose. That's what happened when I joined a couple of years ago and let me tell you, that's seriously depressing. I never went back after that. But I hear they have different trainers there and I intend to find one that won't look down and me and give me support. This is the start of a new thin and healthy life...and blog! I'll post more tomorrow!

I'm retiring from Digital Scrapbooking!

I have decided to retire from digital scrapbooking beginning at the end of this month. While I won't be digital designing, I WILL be creating paper mini albums and selling them on eBay! I was watching "Blue Hawaii" and Elvis was singing when I created this kit...hence, "The Night is Young" seemed an appropriate name! Not to mention I have been singing it ever since! WII FIT is here!
We got a WII Fit this past Sunday and I have been working the aerobics part of it each day for the past 4 days, yeah for me! I need to lose 100 lbs, but this thing makes it fun! Anyone else a WII Fitter?

I haven't posted in a while...got busy taking care of the grandbabies and just haven't had time. But I am back with a new kit at Scrap Dish, just for the teen girls! If you love bright colors and cute elements, this kit is for you!

Now, this weather is really starting to get to me. If I had my way I would live in a warm place all year round, but it's not up to me so I'm stuck here in PA in the snow and cold. Someday...when Ed McMahon brings my 10 million, or when I win the lottery, whichever comes first...I plan to move to Hawaii and live on the beach. Until then, it's more winter for me. And here is the reason why. I am taking care of my 4 and 1 year old granddaughters while my daughter works. She is working the 11 pm to 7 am shift and I keep them till around 2 in the afternoon 5 days a week. I wanted to be one of those Grandma's that just gets to see them and then send them home to Mommy and Daddy, but it didn't work out that way. I had three children, so I know I must have done the raising somehow, but I honestly cannot remember how I did it! Taking care of 2 little ones is not easy on this 49 year old. Now, 49 may sound young to some, but to me it just feels old. I feel stuck. I love my grandbabies, don't get me wrong, but I feel like I have no choice. I don't have my car because my daughter drives it and I feel stuck in this house with no where to go. I have no friends, except for my online ones, so I have no one to call but my Mom or my sister. Is anyone else in the same boat as I am or is it just me?

I did very well yesterday on my new way of eating...diet...whatever you want to call it! Today so far I have had a glass of V-8. I plan to stick with this so I can get rid of all these pains and weight! I will get some snack foods like raw veggies to crunch on all day and I have popcorn which I can eat a little of too. I'm going to get myself to the library and get some low cal cook books out too. If you all have any low cal meals that are good, please leave them for me in your comment!

It's already the 6th of January and I haven't started a diet yet...or a new way of eating, whatever you want to call it. I haven't actually eaten today yet so there's still time! My MIL got a WII fit for Christmas and when I got on it it said, OW! Meaning I weigh way too much. OK, I'm gonna say it, I weighed 266 pounds...meaning I have more than 100 to lose. Today is the day that I start losing it. I figure if I write it down here everyone will know that I intend to lose it and I can't hide behind the computer anymore. MIL said I can come over anytime to use the WII fit, and I might take her up on it, but I'd really like one for home so I can do it anytime. Today I will eat smaller portions and NOT eat 25 brownie bites for breakfast...or 2 helpings of lasagna, or a double cheeseburger and fries like I did yesterday. Gee, I wonder why I weigh so much? LOL! OK, for today I will start eating better and get rid of some of this weight by summer so I don't have all these problems walking and bending and backaches and sore joints. Wish me luck and say some prayers for me!

I didn't post anything yesterday, cause I couldn't think of anything to say. Now that's unusual for me because I have a ton of stuff to say...just didn't feel like saying it I guess. Yesterday my hubby decided to clean the living room and kitchen, which I did NOT want to do because I just didn't and he did so I had to get up and do a few things. He said I sat at the computer for 33 hours yesterday, which we all know is impossible cause there's not 33 hours in a day. He neglected to remember that I did laundry and dishes and made lasagna for dinner. He DID do a lot of cleaning which I appreciate because my house has overwhelmed me for so long that it's become something my Mom would spank me over. Anyway, the kitchen is almost done, I have to get the dishwasher loaded again and vacuum the floor and it's done. (Just don't look in the cabinets because that's where I hid the stuff that was on the table).
New years resolutions are not my thing, never have been. I had planned to quit smoking the other day but failed...basically because I didn't try very hard. I'll quit when I am good and ready, and I'm just not good and ready yet.
I am working on a couple new kits, but nothing I really like so far but I will post links and images when I get something done that I like. I've been asked where my inspiration comes from and I usually say that I go scrolling through the eBay lists of mini scrapbook albums. Have you all seen the money you can make from selling those little albums? I used to do it when I was paper scrapping and I remember one selling at around 45.00. If I could sell one per day I wouldn't have to worry about finding a job!
That reminds me, I took the PA civil service test for Parole Agent 1 a couple weeks ago and got my results today...I scored an 80 on the test, which was not what I wanted. There is an eligibility list and I'm not even close to being first. I'm still on the list for Correctional counselor and county caseworker too though. I guess I'll just be waiting a while. I do have a guy to call from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to see if he can help me find something. OK, that's it for me today...I blogged!
